What is coaching?
Coaching is a process which helps to guide you from where you are now to where you want to be. Its an opportunity to troubleshoot ideas and gain a different perspective on matters that might be troubling you or in situations where you might not be sure of where to go next.
What is NLP Coaching?
NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming. It’s not as complicated as it sounds! It is basically a technique that uses language in a different way, allowing you to explore and understand how you think and feel, and help you to make the change that you might not be able to see.
Are you going to tell me what to do with my life?
No, most certainly not. Your life is your own and decisions of how to move forward can only be made by yourself. My job is to help you to see options where you might think there are none and create opportunities to figure out how to move forward. Coaching is a process of self-learning, I just act as the catalyst to get you started.
What can coaching help with?
Coaching can help with a range of areas from difficult relationships, career decisions, anxiety, changing behaviours, jealousy, phobias, public speaking, painful memories, IBS, weight loss, lack of confidence, relaxation, aggression, changing habits, bereavement, sport performance, self-esteem, writers block, gambling, performance anxiety, relationship enhancement, fears, motivation, exam anxiety, improve communication, this is not an exhaustive list.
How many sessions will it take?
Sessions are tailored to the individual, you may feel that one session is enough, or you might feel that you want a few in close succession or several over a few months. 4 – 6 sessions are generally recommended but as the client you control the process so it’s entirely up to you. Coaching is not about keeping you on long term, it’s about helping you and sending you on your way again.
How much do the sessions cost?
Sessions are £50 and generally last around an hour to an hour and a half depending on what is being worked on at the time.
What’s the process?
After initial contact and booking your first appointment, I ask for a £10 non-refundable deposit which is redeemable against your first session, this can be taken via BACS or PayPal.
Sessions can work over a time frame to suit you and your development. You may find weekly appointments useful to start with, progressing to fortnightly or monthly and then none at all, with the option to come back anytime as and when needed. Equally, you may find that an intensive run of sessions is more suitable for you.
As each session is individually tailored to you, so is the process. Coaching is a great tool on its own or it can work well alongside hypnotherapy and mindfulness techniques, if this turns out to be something that could be beneficial to you. Check out the hypnotherapy or mindfulness pages for more information.
